What is a virtual Santa visit?

A virtual Santa visit is the classic holiday visit with Santa, held over video instead of in a mall or at a holiday event. You choose a time, your child sits down at home, and at the appointed minute Santa appears on the screen. Your child can say hello, tell him about their year and share what is on their wish list, the same way they would on his knee, only from a favorite spot on the couch.

Our visit is a live, 10-minute, one-on-one video call on Google Meet with a real-beard Santa in a velvet suit. It is a warm conversation and a meet-and-greet. It is not a recording, and Santa responds to what your child actually says.

Why families choose an online visit with Santa

  • No lines

Your child is the only visitor on the call, so there is nothing to wait in.

  • No travel

Visit from home, in pajamas if you like, with your own tree in the background.

  • A calmer setting

Younger and shy children often warm up faster in a familiar room with a parent beside them.

  • Easy for any schedule

Calls run at limited times, including weekend mornings and Tuesday and Thursday evenings (Pacific time), so you can usually find a slot that suits nap and bedtime.

  • Available across the US

All you need is a phone, tablet or computer with a camera and internet connection.

How a virtual visit works, step by step

  1. 1

    Book your time

Pick a date and time on the booking page. The live call is $39, paid in full at booking.

  2. 2

    Tell Santa about your child

Enter your child's name, age, wish list and fun facts. If siblings will be on the call, put their names, ages and a wish or two in the "fun facts" box so Santa can greet them too.

  3. 3

    Get your Google Meet link

It is emailed to you immediately after booking, and you get a reminder before the call.

  4. 4

Click the link at your time

No account or app download is needed on most devices. Santa will be there.

  5. 5

    Chat for 10 minutes

Santa uses what you shared to start the conversation, then follows your child's lead.

The full walk-through, including a tech checklist, is on the how it works page.

Getting ready for the visit

A little preparation makes the 10 minutes shine.

  • Set a spot

A quiet room, lights on, and the screen at your child's eye level. Our blog has ideas for setting up a Santa call corner at home.

  • Share good details

A pet's name, a new skill or a favorite toy gives Santa something real to talk about. The fun facts guide has examples you can copy.

  • Talk about it ahead of time

Our guide on how to prepare your child for a Santa call has simple conversation starters.

  • Test the link a few minutes early

Check sound, camera and Wi-Fi so nothing interrupts the moment.

Who the visit is best for

  • Toddlers and preschoolers who find crowds overwhelming. See the Santa call for toddlers guide.
  • School-age children who love to chat and ask questions.
  • Families with busy holiday calendars who want a memory that fits in a short window.
  • Siblings who are welcome to be on the call together (the call is 10 minutes in total, so plan to take turns).

Family members are welcome to sit with your child at home, which often helps little ones feel safe.

  • Join from a phone, tablet or computer
  • Siblings are welcome on the same call

Prefer something shorter? Try a video message

If you cannot find a call time that fits, or you want a keepsake to watch again, a personalized Santa video message is $19. It is about 30 seconds long, paid at order, and delivered as a private link starting December 10, within 3 days after that. Last day to order is December 21. Some families book a live visit and order a message too. You can compare the two on our pricing page.

Is the visit with a real Santa?

Yes. A real person in a real-beard Santa suit joins every call live. Read more about the difference between a live human Santa and recorded or computer-generated videos on our real Santa, not AI page.
