What a live Santa video call is

A live Santa video call is a real-time conversation between your child and Santa over video. You book a time, share a few details about your child, and at the chosen time you click a link and Santa is on the screen, ready to talk. It is not a recording and it is not a script. Santa responds to what your child says, which is why the details you share at booking matter so much.

Our Santa is a real-beard Santa in a velvet suit. The call is a warm meet-and-greet and a conversation, the kind of chat a child would have on his knee at a holiday event, only from your own living room. If you have ever wished you could skip the long mall line and still give your child a real moment with Santa, this is that.

The call is built for any family in the US. Your child needs nothing but a place to sit and a screen that shows Santa's face. You can think of it as a Zoom-style call that runs on Google Meet, with no account to create.

What Santa talks about with your child

Santa uses the details from your booking to start a real conversation. He can ask about your child's name, how old they are, what they are hoping for this Christmas and the things that make them special. Because he knows about the soccer team, the new puppy or the lost tooth, your child feels like Santa actually knows them.

Younger children may only say a word or two. That is fine. Older children often have a lot to say. Either way, Santa leads the conversation and keeps it easy. If you would like inspiration for what to mention, see fun facts to tell Santa and our post on what to ask Santa on a video call.

Who the call is for

  • Toddlers and preschoolers do well with a parent beside them. Read our guide to a Santa call for toddlers.
  • School-age kids enjoy telling Santa about their year and asking him questions.
  • Siblings are welcome on the call. Put their names, ages and a wish or two in the "fun facts" box when you book.
  • Families far from grandparents or Santa events can still make a holiday memory together.
  • Busy families who want a set time they can plan around, with no lines or travel.

What you need to join

You need a phone, tablet or computer with a working camera and microphone, an internet connection and the Meet link from your confirmation email. No account is needed to join. Sit in a quiet, well-lit spot, prop the device at your child's eye level and have the link ready a few minutes early. Our prepare your child guide covers simple ways to get your child excited without putting pressure on them.

Live call or video message?

If you want a real conversation, book the live call. If you cannot find a time that fits, or you want a keepsake your child can rewatch, the personalized Santa video message is $19 and arrives as a private link. Some families do both. For a closer comparison, read Santa video call vs. pre-recorded Santa video.

Call times and timing

Calls run from November 28 to December 24, 2026. Times are limited and listed in Pacific time, so convert to your local time when you choose. Evenings on Tuesday and Thursday and weekend mornings are the call windows. Popular slots go first, especially close to Christmas, so book early.
